Apartment Spring Cleaning Program

Important Information for Residents of South Hill, St.Mary's and Leonardtown
A Residential Facilities Spring Cleaning program will occur in on-campus apartments in April. See the schedule below for the dates your apartment is scheduled for this Spring Cleaning Program.


We ask for your assistance in preparing your space for this work.


What does this mean?
Residential Facilities housekeeping staff will clean areas of your apartment for you. Work will be limited to kitchens, dining rooms and bathrooms. Staff will not enter bedrooms (except when access to private bathroom is needed). You do not need to be present in your unit when this work occurs.


Why are we doing this?
To help you better prepare your apartment for closing in May.


What we will do and what do we need you to do?
Please remove belongings from the kitchen and bathroom areas described below to reduce the need for our staff to handle your property and minimize any risk of damage.

  1. Stove/Oven: Please remove pots, pans, and cookware from the stove and oven before we arrive. We will clean the outside and inside of the stove/oven unit.
  2. Kitchen Floor (Kitchen/Dining Room in New LT): Please remove any trash and recycling to the appropriate receptacles outside your hall. Please remove any personal property items to the living room or other locations. We will wash and polish the vinyl flooring.
  3. Kitchen Sink: Please clear the area and remove dishes etc., for access to water.
  4. Bathrooms: Please remove all personal items not in cabinets from the bathrooms. Please plan not to use the shower during our scheduled work shift. We will clean the toilets, sinks, showers and floors. If needed, we’ll clean or replace the shower curtains.
  5. Refrigerator: Be sure the top of your refrigerator is clear of any belongings so we can pull it out from the wall to clean on top of it and behind it.

Cleaning Schedule
You will receive a notice on your apartment door 1-2 days in advance notifying you of the specific date and time your apartment will be entered for this Spring Cleaning Program.
