After submitting the application online, instructions will be provided to sign up for an individual interview. These instructions will immediately be available on the computer screen and will also be emailed to the email address listed in your official record with the University. Applicants must sign-up for an individual interview by 11:59 pm on October 4.
Individual interviews take place October 10 – 22 and are conducted by a two-person team consisting of a professional or graduate staff member and a current RA. During this 35-minute interview, candidates will be asked a variety of questions assessing their knowledge pertinent to the RA position and the skills and abilities they possess. To prepare for the interview candidates should read all application material thoroughly and be prepared to answer questions concerning their essays. Applicants should also consider attending an Interview Workshop.
After the individual interview, applicants will be notified on October 26 via email (drlhr@umd.edu) of their status in the RA selection process. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in the group process interview.
