About The Scholarship

With great sorrow and a deep sense of loss, our Department observed the passing on July 5, 2005 of beloved colleague and friend Joe Mitchell, an Assistant Director of Resident Life. Joe's cancer had returned the previous fall. The Joseph M. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Award was established in recognition of Joe's compassion for the less fortunate members of our society and in honor of his ability to befriend, guide and mentor individuals whose ability to succeed as students at our institution was challenged by some personal or family circumstance. Scholarships will be awarded each fall and spring semester to one or more deserving students. These are one-time awards of up to $1,000 per recipient. Contributions to the Scholarship Award fund are welcomed.
